Earcade: ear training games
Earcade is a free arcade that trains your musical ear. You hear a sound and name it: an interval, a chord, a scale degree or a chord function. Each mode climbs from the first easy sounds to sevenths, blue notes and borrowed chords, and a daily league lets you compete at your level (Rookie, Player or Pro).
Training modes
- Intervals: major and minor thirds, fourths, fifths and octaves, then seconds, sixths, sevenths and the tritone, ascending, descending and played together.
- Chords: major and minor, diminished and augmented, suspended chords, seventh chords and jazz colours.
- Scale degrees: hear where a note sits in the key, from 1, 3 and 5 to blue notes and chromatic steps.
- Chord functions: I, IV and V, then vi, ii and iii, borrowed chords and the leading tone.
Arcade games
- Ghost Notes: a maze arcade game you win by listening.
- Tone Pilot: fly to the note you hear. Seven lanes, seven notes.
- Ear Wash: every patch of grime hums a note; spray it with the right one.
- Chef Do: the chef sings Do and one more note, and you bring the right ingredient.
