🌈 Spanish: Colours and Numbers

Episode transcript

Hello! Today we will learn the Spanish colours and numbers. An apple, a fish and a frog will help us!

Here are three things: the apple is rojo (red), the fish is azul (blue), the sun is amarillo (yellow). Let’s say them together!

Four more: the frog is verde (green), the orange is naranja (orange), the flower is rosa (pink), the grapes are morado (purple).

Question time! azul means blue. Which balloon is blue?

Let’s count the apples! uno (one), dos (two), tres (three), cuatro (four), cinco (five).

Let’s keep going! seis (six), siete (seven), ocho (eight), nueve (nine), diez (ten).

Let’s count the frogs: uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete. There are seven frogs. Seven is siete.

Let’s say the number and the colour together: tres ranas verdes, dos peces azules, cinco globos rojos. In Spanish the colour comes after the thing, and if there are many things, the colour changes too: one rana, but ranas verdes.

A little chant to practise: Uno, dos, tres: rojo, azul, verde. Cuatro, cinco, seis: amarillo, rosa, morado. A balloon appears with each word. Sing along!

Summary: rojo, azul, amarillo, verde, naranja, rosa, morado and uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho, nueve, diez. Now try it in Mi Pequeño Mundo!
