🔟 Getting to Know 10 with the Ten Frame
Episode finished! 🎉
Episode transcript
This is a ten frame. It has 10 squares. Let’s get to know it!
We put the counters in one at a time. Start at the top row, on the left: 1, 2, 3, 4.
The top row is full: 5. That is half of the frame!
5 on top, 2 below. 5 and 2 make 7. You saw it without counting!
If the counters are mixed up, they are hard to count. Put them in order and you see it straight away: 7!
Both rows are full. A full frame makes 10.
For 13 we have one full frame and 3 more. That is 1 ten and 3 ones.
We can make 10 in different ways: 9 and 1, 7 and 3, 5 and 5. They all make 10!
The frame is empty: 0. Zero means none at all.
5 is half a frame, 10 is a full frame, 0 is an empty frame. Now try it in Ten Frame!
