Episode finished! 🎉
Episode transcript
A persuasive paragraph gets the reader to agree with you. The secret is to build it like a burger!
Start with a topic sentence that states your opinion clearly: I strongly believe that our school should have longer breaks.
Point: give your first reason. Firstly, a longer break helps students concentrate.
Example: give an example, or explain your point. For example, after playing outside, students come back calm and ready to listen.
Evidence: add proof, such as a number, a survey or an expert’s opinion. A survey showed that 8 out of 10 students feel more focused after a long break.
Link: connect your reason back to your main opinion. Therefore, longer breaks would make our lessons better.
Add at least three tricks to your paragraph. This sentence has three at once: a question, “we” language and the magic three: Wouldn’t we all like to feel happier, healthier and more focused?
At the very end, sum up your opinion with force: In conclusion, longer breaks would make our school a happier and smarter place. Now try it in Persuade Me!
